Dorming at Cal State Fullerton?

I really want to dorm but Im not too sure. If I decided to dorm I would have to take out a loan and even then I would still need some money. They say freshmen should always dorm but I dont know what to do. I live about 50 minutes away from the school. Is it worth it to dorm there or should I consider commuting?
