What should I do about this?

I went on a date to the movies with the guy I like. The only thing is it was SO awkward. We're both really shy and when I got around him my mind went blank and I didn't know what to say. He was also really nervous, so we really didn't talk much. I don't want to stop dating him I just don't know what to do about that..help please?
